Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
I am excited to meet my SAGE and PEP students and begin another year of learning together. This year, we will continue to focus on social-emotional growth and communication skills while challenging students to think deeply across subjects. In reading, we will analyze texts and explore multiple perspectives. In math, we will look for patterns, strengthen problem-solving skills, and apply mathematical thinking through science and coding experiences.
Our groups will begin meeting in mid-September. I will send an email with the official start date as soon as it is finalized by our administration.
For those I have not yet met, my name is Stephanie De Jesus. This is my 22nd year teaching in the Issaquah School District and my 11th year in the SAGE/PEP program. I am passionate about mathematics and enjoy attending professional development workshops, conferences, and trainings to continually grow as an educator. Outside of school, I love reading novels, especially on a rainy day with a good book and a comfortable chair. I also have two sons in the Issaquah School District, one at Liberty High School and the other at Cougar Mountain Middle School.
In October, we will host a SAGE/PEP Curriculum Night for new families. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions, and connect with other families as we discuss all things gifted education.
I am looking forward to reconnecting with returning students and getting to know our new learners. It is going to be a wonderful year filled with growth, curiosity, and opportunities to stretch our thinking.
Have a fantastic start to the school year, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need anything.
Warmly,
Stephanie De Jesus
SAGE/PEP Teacher
